Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
WordCount.top ("we", "our", or "the Site") provides a free online word counter. This policy explains what information is — and, more importantly, what information is not — collected when you use the Site.
1. Your Text Never Leaves Your Device
All counting, readability analysis, and keyword-density calculations run entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript. We do not upload, transmit, store, log, or have any access to the text you type or paste. There is no server-side processing of your content.
2. Local Browser Storage (Auto-Save)
For convenience, the tool can remember your draft so it is still there when you return. This draft is saved only in your own browser's localStorage on your own device. It is never sent to us or to any third party. You can delete it at any time by clicking the Clear button in the tool, or by clearing your browser's site data.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
- No account, registration, name, or email address is required.
- No text, documents, or files are collected.
- No cookies are used for tracking or advertising purposes.
- No personal information is sold or shared — we have none to sell or share.
4. Server Logs
Like almost every website, our web server automatically records standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not linked to the content you analyze and are retained only for a limited period.
5. Third-Party Services
The Site may be served through standard content-delivery and security infrastructure. We do not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or social-media trackers on this page.
6. Your Rights (Including CCPA/CPRA)
Because we do not collect personal information beyond transient server logs, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct, delete, or port. If you are a California resident and have questions about your rights under the CCPA/CPRA, you may contact us using the information below. Browser-level controls (clearing site data, blocking storage) give you full, immediate control over the locally stored draft described in Section 2.
7. Children's Privacy
The Site is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
9. Contact
If you have questions about this privacy policy, please reach us via the contact information published on the Site's home page footer.
